In-Person Visitation

Please learn more about inmate visits by reading the Somerset County Jail Inmate Visit Policy and Procedure (PDF)

Somerset County Jail will be facilitating in person visits beginning January 30th, 2024. The visits will take place the evening of each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (unless the date falls on a recognized State or Federal Holiday). There will be two blocks of visits each night, one from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, and the other from 7:45pm to 8:45pm. Each Inmate will be permitted to have a single one-hour block of in person visits following this schedule each calendar week.

To be eligible for a visit, the inmate must fill out a Visit Request Form. New versions of this form have been generated. All inmates are required to fill out an updated form if they want friends and family members added to their visit list. Along with this memo, the housing units have been stocked with new versions of this form.

To schedule a visit, friends and family members can call the Somerset County Jail Lobby each Monday and Friday between the hours of 9am and 3pm. During that call, visitors can sign up for a slot as long as they are preapproved through the Visit Request system, the date of the requested visit is at least 48 hours in advance, and there is still room available in that slot.

Please see the links below regarding visit schedules as well as rules for both visitors and inmates. We look forward to serving you and having onsite visits once again.
